The frontier lands that separate Ottenby from Grecan dominion are rife with turmoil, and only the strong-willed and resolute thrive. The Barony of Vörnbörg (Vaern-burg), though formerly known as The Barony of Springholme, was established by Duke Alfgeir Bramsson, the Duke of Slesvik in the year 1427 D.H and was composed of lands once belonging to the Barony of Nortdeerland; an Ottenby barony which existed from 922 D.H to 1082 D.H. The Barony of Vörnbörg is situated on an island a few days to the northwest of Four Rivers. It was founded as a defense against Grecan invasion along the River Aller and was originally a gift to Caleb Hermann, a Mercian knight who had formerly served to protect Duke Alfgeir Brammson. The barony was given to Luther Springholme and he was named Baron when he delivered the message of Caleb's death to Alfgeir. After Baron Springholme passed away under suspicious circumstances, the Barony was granted to Titus Novellus. After a fatal tryst, the Barony was then granted by Duke Alfgeir Bramsson to Avery Ormtala, the current baron of Vörnbörg, as a way to deal with the growing problems of riots, rebellions, and chaos that had ensnared the township.
